Dilijan: A Developing Tourism Destination
A Regional Tourism Hub
Located between Yerevan and Tbilisi, Dilijan occupies an important place on the South Caucasus tourism map. It holds immense potential to serve as a regional hub linking diverse destinations, target markets, and travel itineraries.
Concurrently, Dilijan is surely solidifying its international standing through evolving hospitality infrastructure, global brands, fresh tourism offerings, and high-profile international events.
Together, these forces position Dilijan not only as a landmark within Armenia, but as a compelling new destination on the global stage.
A Unique Blend of Nature and Cultural Heritage
A defining trait of Dilijan is its rich nature, intertwined with its cultural setting. Dilijan National Park, dense forests, vibrant biodiversity, Parz Lake, and an extensive network of hiking trails offer many opportunities for immersive encounters with nature.
At the same time, Dilijan and its surrounding areas are deeply rooted in historical and cultural heritage — Haghartsin, Goshavank, Jukhtak, Matosavank, and Aghavnavank monasteries, as well as the city's historic district, Sharambeyan Street, museums, and artisan craft spaces.
This versatility enables Dilijan to cater to diverse traveler profiles: history and culture seekers, nature lovers and hikers, art and gastronomy enthusiasts, wellness travelers, or those simply seeking a peaceful gateway.
An Emerging Tourism & Hospitality Ecosystem
Dilijan is cultivating a vibrant ecosystem that offers visitors reasons not just to explore, but to linger and stay longer. New infrastructure, hotels, culinary concepts, educational programs, cultural venues, and community initiatives are expanding the town's travel identity and offer.
An important highlight of this evolution is Green Rock's multi-functional complex in Dilijan. This includes Hyatt Regency Dilijan, PPLS Rooms Co-living, Villa3 Community Hub, Cabinet Café & Restaurant, Apicius Armenia International School of Hospitality, a future Music Hall, an Art Park, and more.
Gastronomy
Central to Dilijan's travel identity is the culinary heritage of Tavush. The local cuisine is rooted in the region's nature, daily way of life, and long-standing traditions. Fresh farm produce, wild mushrooms, native herbs, berries, honey, and homemade preserves define Tavush's distinct food culture.
Families continue to preserve time-honored recipes and cooking techniques passed down through generations. Visitors can experience this heritage not only through local dishes, but also through regional products, lively markets, gastro-yards, and hands-on culinary traditions.
The company develops real estate, hospitality, tourism, cultural, educational, and public-value infrastructure — creating places that support local life, attract visitors, and contribute to long-term regional growth.
Green Rock Management Group is structured around four strategic directions: Development, Operations, Investments, and Foundation. Together, they cover the full cycle from project development and construction to operations, investment initiatives, tourism demand, community programs, and public value.
